Support the mission

Fund the conversation that changes a family's direction.

Promoting Conflict Resolution Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and they stay in the Boston neighborhoods we serve.

Where it goes

Plain arithmetic, not vague impact language.

We are a grassroots organization with a small budget, which means individual gifts move real line items. Here is roughly what different levels underwrite.

Supporter

$25

A tournament-grade chess set and clock that stays with a family after the session ends.

Neighbor

$75

Books and printed discussion guides for one full literacy circle cohort.

Advocate

$250

A complete family mediation cycle: intake calls, facilitated sessions, and follow-up.

Champion

$1,000

An entire Chess for Peace season in one Boston neighborhood, equipment included.

Figures reflect typical program costs and are offered to show how funds are used. Every gift is applied where the need is greatest.

Monthly giving

Give every month

Recurring gifts are what let us schedule programming months ahead instead of quarter to quarter. Even a small monthly amount is disproportionately useful.

Other ways to give

Not every contribution is a card payment.

Several of these cost you nothing extra and are worth as much to us as cash.

Employer matching

Many Boston employers match charitable contributions dollar for dollar, and some match volunteer hours with a cash grant. Check your company's giving portal, then send us the confirmation and we will complete the paperwork.

Donate by check

Prefer to mail a contribution? Contact us and we will send current mailing instructions along with a receipt for your records. Checks should be made payable to Promoting Conflict Resolution Inc.

In-kind donations

Chess sets, books, tablets, printing, catering, or meeting space. In-kind gifts are tax-deductible and often reach families faster than a purchase order would.

Sponsor an event

Underwrite Checkmate for Change or a neighborhood chess season. Sponsorship packets include recognition and a report on exactly what your support funded.

Donor-advised funds

Recommend a grant to PCR Inc. through your donor-advised fund. Contact us for the organizational details your sponsor will request.

Give your time instead

If a financial gift is not possible right now, volunteer hours are just as valuable. Chess coaching, literacy facilitation, and skilled professional support are always needed.

Transparency

What donors should expect from us.

  • A prompt receipt. Every gift is acknowledged with documentation suitable for your tax records.
  • Specific reporting. We tell you what your contribution funded — sessions held, families served, neighborhoods reached.
  • No sold or shared lists. Donor information stays with PCR Inc. and is never rented, sold, or traded.
  • Restraint in our asks. We would rather send one meaningful update a month than five appeals a week.
